"Am I a dog to you?"

The car jerked to a stop.

Shuddering in the trunk, Sidekick squeezed their eyes shut, tears drying on their eyelashes. Their aching muscles, twisted into awkward positions, had gone numb—heavy—a long time ago.

The trunk door popped open with an automated hiss.

Villain stood over them, grinning. "Not so bold now, huh, punk?"

Everything slammed into place. The abduction. The showmanship. Villain’s signature cruelty dressed as charm.

Sidekick seethed into their gag, jaw aching with tension. Go to hell.

Villain laughed, teeth white. Bending down, he ruffled Sidekick's hair, starting from the base of their scalp and running his fingers up, up, up. Slow. Deliberate.

Sidekick flinched back, breathing hard and fast. Don't touch me.

Villain tsked and slapped Sidekick smartly. "Down, boy."

Not even the shadowy light could hide the burning in Sidekick's eyes or the sudden, stinging flush of humiliation.

Villain stepped back. "Get 'em out."

Villain's henchmen were more than happy to comply. They grabbed Sidekick's arms and hauled them out.

Fuck you guys too.

The garage's concrete floor smelled like dust, copper, and spilled blood.

Sidekick suppressed a gag, elastic muscles twitching in their throat-- could have been a combination of fear and nausea. Who knew.

The henchmen dropped them to the ground. And they collapsed, rubbery legs doing nothing to support them. With hands behind their back, they quite literally ate shit, hitting the ground with their shoulder and face.

"Mmm-ff!

Crismon pain exploded in their face, sensitive nerve endings scraped off and bruising skin left shredded.

Distorted laughter surrounded them.

Right, 'cause this is the kind of slapstick humor they like.

Villain knelt down and grabbed Sidekick's chin, ripping their head up.

"If you scream," he whispered, "There's no one to hear you but us."

Sidekick snarled into the gag. Hero will come.

"Hero isn't coming," Villain smiled. "I made sure of that."

Sidekick's confidence faltered and they looked away, everything suddenly throbbing.

Almost gently, Villain began to untie the outer part gag, letting the bloody layers drop away. The wad of cloth, buried so deep into Sidekick that it almost reached their trachea, remained. "Now, drop it." His grin had never left.

You're joking.

"C'mon boy, drop it." Villain's fingers dug into the sides of Sidekick's mouth, pinching, forcing Sidekick's torn mouth open.

Their stomach dropped, the world suddenly spinning.

More laughter from the henchmen.

Sidekick flushed a furious shade of red. They stretched their mouth around the wad of cloth and worked it out. They retched. Once, twice Finally, they coughed the thing out, dripping with saliva and copper blood.

Villain stroked Sidekick's trembling jaw. "There you go."

With aching teeth, Sidekick slurred out, "Am I a...dog to you?"

Villain chuckled, blue eyes dangerously bright. "You were Hero's lapdog first. Now you're mine."

Then watch me fucking bite.

Whumpee & His Collar part 2

Warnings: tight collar around Whumpee's neck, severely restricted breathing, mentions of beating and past torture & conditioning, panic attack and choking

The collar was tight around his neck, digging into his skin with every strained breath he took.

"Oh honey, I promised I wouldn't hurt you here, and I keep my promises," Caretaker tried to soothe. "Why don't you want the collar off?"

"What did I do wrong?" Whumpee choked out.

"What did you... do wrong?" Caretaker echoed, confused. "You did nothing wrong, Whumpee -- what gave you that impression?"

Whumpee pointed with a shaky finger to the collar around his neck. "Y-You were going to take it off, which means I did something horrific and need to be thoroughly punished for it." He couldn't understand why, but he saw Caretaker's eyes fill with sad tears.

"I... think I understand now. But you're not with Whumper anymore," Caretaker spoke softly. "New house, New rules, okay? You will never be hurt here. Not even with your collar off."

Whumpee found it hard to believe her words. His entire life revolved around this collar, it gave him a clear sense of direction and purpose. So that he would always know what to expect at any given time, depending on how tight it was strapped around his throat.

But Caretaker hadn't done anything with it in all the time since his rescue. So... maybe she was telling the truth...

Whumpee's chest was heaving with the effort to keep breathing by now, his mouth gaped open as he gasped and choked on sobs.

"Whumpee, please -- you're going to pass out if you keep it up. Please let me take it off. I promise I won't hurt you, and I will always love and care for you. Do you trust me?" Caretaker reached her hands out toward him, pausing a few inches away as though waiting for permission to make contact. Giving Whumpee a choice, to accept or deny her help.

Whumpee squeezed his eyes shut tight, terrified beyond belief, but forced himself to give a shallow nod. But he still reflexively flinched when he felt Caretaker's warm hands gently cup his face, a soothing and comforting presence.

"You're going to be okay, Whumpee, just breathe..."

Whumpee tried his absolute best to obey, he really did, to be good and perfect for her -- but it was just so difficult with the tight collar in place, his situation worsened by the panicked hyperventilating. He felt Caretaker's hands gently slide down from his jaw to his neck, carefully fiddling with the clasp keeping the collar on him.

The fear washed over him all over again, but he managed to hold still as Caretaker finally unbuckled the collar and took it off completely. Cold air hit the skin where the collar always rested for the first time in weeks, a sensation so unnatural and foreign to him.

Then there were strong arms around him, pulling him away from the wall he was curled up and cowering against and into a fierce hug.

“You're so brave, Whumpee, so so brave” Caretaker praised comfortingly, running a soothing hand through his hair in the way she knew he liked most.

Whumpee trembled like a fragile leaf in her arms with a whine, burying his face into her shoulder, and clinging to her desperately like a lifeline. It felt different to be able to properly breathe again, so strange after he'd gotten used to the calculated, measured breaths he'd take whenever the collar was on.

He gulped it down greedily, sucking in as much fresh air as he could with each deep breath. Caretaker was right, it felt so much better to have the torturous collar off.

“Y-You're not going to abandon me now that's it off, are you?” Whumpee asked quietly, his voice wobbly and uncertain.

“Never, Whumpee, never,” Caretaker answered firmly. There was no hesitation whatsoever in her tone, and Whumpee wanted to cry again – in gratitude this time instead of fear.

“Thank you for taking care of me, Caretaker,” Whumpee mumbled into her shoulder.

“Always,” Caretaker whispered into his ear. An eternal promise, one that she would forever keep.

Give your whumpee a raging fever that Caretaker can't seem to keep down, they just keep getting warmer whilst shivering harder

Make the whumpee someone special in whumpees life. A trusted friend turned yandere or a parent or a sibling who was bought out by the enemy. Make the hurt personal

The whumpee is hiding a bullet wound, it's non fatal and for the most part they've been able to walk it off. But they've lost a lot of blood and they are starting to go pale. And no one is noticing

The whumpee was the sidekick of the hero, and they expect the hero to come for them eventually. But one day turns into to two and two turns into a week and they stop expecting the hero to save them

Drop a building on your whumpee

In addition have the person who save them become their whumper

Project your own fears onto your whumpee, if you are afraid of heights put the whumpee on the top of a building. If you are afraid of snakes, bite whumpee with something venemous

Have the whumper act out of spite. They aren't gaining anything by hurting the whumpee they just want to, they don't get any satisfaction out of it either, they just want to hurt something

Have the whumper and the caretaker know eachother, caretaker finally comes in to take whumpee away and they find themselves face to face to someone they thought they parted ways with long ago

Make the caretaker a yandere, turn them into a care whumper. They do care about the whumpee, but obsessively so.

Give whumpee a hobby the requires their hands or eyes or ears. And have the whumper threated to damage those things if they don't co-operate. The whumper will facilitate the hobby but if whumpee steps out of line they lose the ability to do said hobby. They don't loose the hobby itself, the whumper does this so that they still can have the hobby but they can't do it

Have your caretaker trade places with the whumpee. The whumper didn't want to whumpee anyway, it was all to get to caretaker and now they have them

Take whumpees most prized posession and put it just out of reach, put it on a shelf they can't reach, put it in a box they cannot open or break, put it on the other end of a chain that every time whumpee tries to go closer the object is pulled away

Restrict whumpees movement, so much so that even the whumper struggles to interact with them despite having put them in those bindings

Characters Holding Each Other In Whump

This is my demand to see more characters holding each other in whump, but also my opportunity to go on about characters holding each other in whump.

I need more of it, it's so warm, and great when it's characters dependent and safe to one another. Or it's creepy and harrowing when it's between whumper and anything.

I need more of

Caretaker finally reaching whumpee, and pulling them to their chest. Now that they are within each other's arms Caretaker is not letting go.

Multiple whumpees who cannot see each other directly, but hear their voices and reach their hands just far enough to feel each other's touch. Maybe they're reaching out between cell bars, perhaps there's a hole in the walls of an enclosure, or an open slot to a lab. Either way, they've found a hand to hold.

A distraught whumpee crawling over to their only friend, and waiting to be pulled into someone's lap.

When a known threat (whumper) approaches and a protective character pulls another into their grasp to shield them.

Two shivering characters latched onto each other, removing as much space between themselves as possible. After all, what if someone separates them again?

Whumper holding whumpee from behind, swaying them back and forth, listening to the subtle sounds of fright.

Two words: Bridal Carry. Whumpee nuzzling their face into caretaker's chest for bonus points. For extra bonus points, latching onto to caretaker's clothing despite being carried.

Whumpee trying to escape from a whumper they've pummeled thoroughly, only for the half-conscious whumper to grab whumpee one last time. Is it a pleading? A don't go? Or just a final act of terror?

Caretaker sitting on the bed next to a whumpee, and bringing them into their grasp as they whimper.

"What do you mean he's scared, sir? he just flipped you off."

Boss smirked and walked toward the victim, nodding as their captive tensed and glared up at him.

The boss gave it a few seconds, then quickly lifted his hand and snapped his fingers beside the captive's cheek.

The prisoner flinched so hard he actually grunted in the expectation of an impact. Then again, Sidekick couldn't fault him for being wise enough to expect boss to slap him. The kid had been slapped plenty of times already in the last hour.

"See?" Boss said. "He expects me to beat him. But he doesn't even move to defend himself."

Far from it, Sidekick realized. The captive had a death grip on his own belt loops like he was trying to strangle the fight right out of his thumbs.

"And he doesn't defend himself because he's scared." Boss said. "Aren't you, boy?"

"Fuck you," the prisoner started.

This time boss did slap him, soft enough to be indecent rather than cruel. The boy flushed and bent nearly halfway down.

Boss gave sidekick a look. It meant,

Cross me and you'll get the same.

More Medical Whump Tropes

• A patient is admitted to the hospital for what is thought to be a routine procedure, only to find out that the doctor in charge had ulterior motives and plants to perform unethical and dangerous experiments.

• The whump is put under anesthesia, but they still remain completely aware, and are able to feel everything that is being done to them. But they are left paralyzed and unable to alert the doctors and nurses that they are still awake due to the anesthetic.

• A young patient has been in the hospital for quite some time now, and is stating to get sick of it. But as the whumpee starts to grow tired of being in the hospital, they make multiple attempts to try and escape.

Physical Signs of Extreme Pain: Weird Edition 👽❤️‍🩹🤷‍♀️

I've made some pain reference posts over the years, but apart from passing out from pain, I haven't gotten much into the just plain weird shit the body does when it's really hurting. Time to fix that.

Fireflies: Sure, seeing spots is a thing. Black spots on the edge of your whumpee's vision, getting closer in slow pulses when they're having trouble breathing and struggling to hang onto consciousness. But when they just straight up hurt, your whumpee can get weird little floating things that flash like fireflies or tiny pieces of metallic silver confetti drifting around. In my experience, they've been linked to effort--they tend to either start or multiply fast when I stand up or otherwise try to move when I'm in unusually intense pain.

Shivering: Not because your whumpee is cold or in shock, but because their muscles are taut to the point of strain (because the body responds to pain with muscle tension), and when those muscles can't tighten further, they shake. It's the same mechanism that makes your fists shake if you're angry and clenching them past the point they can reasonably be clenched, just all over.

Teeth Chattering: No, seriously. In my experience, it mostly tends to happen as the shivering escalates, but I've had it just start up on its own when I get slammed with a spike in pain out of nowhere like cramps, or if I'm late taking a dose of my meds. I hate it because in the first place it's annoying, in the second place it's very noticeable, and in the third place I have absolutely no control over it. Clenching my teeth doesn't stop the muscles from trying to make them chatter, it just makes them (even more) sore. Also it's hard to talk, and I bite my cheek and tongue. A lot.

Ear Stuff: A ring that your whumpee feels as much as they hear. It's not a tone like a lot of tinnitus is, it's more like the pressure-changing "sound" you'll get as a plane takes off. And it feels like it's physically inside their ears, like someone has taken the world's heaviest, smallest ball-bearing and stuck it in their ear canals and it's trying to pull them down into and through the floor.

The Air Hurts: Your whumpee gets an all-over feeling like someone pressing lightly on a bruise, and the more they think about it, concentrate on it, the more their brain becomes irrationally convinced that the air has become dense around them and that's what's causing it. Because nothing is there, there is no external pressure, it's just pain signals behaving in a goofy way, and their brain is scrambling for an explanation. They might subconsciously pull their hands or other exposed skin into their clothing, or hunch over and pull everything in toward their chest to "protect" their skin from the air around them.
